The Prognostic Value of Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte Ratio in Bladder Cancer

چکیده
In the last decade, cumulative evidence suggests that systemic inflammation is closely related to oncologic outcomes in patients with cancer. This has been demonstrated by a strong correlation between the degree of systemic inflammatory response and poor oncologic outcomes in a variety of malignancies. Several systemic inflammatory markers have been studied and, of those, neutrophilto-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is one of the most widely used inflammatory markers. Although elevated pretreatment NLR has been reported as a useful marker associated with poor oncologic outcome in many cancers, its prognostic value in bladder cancer remains inconsistent. Therefore, this study was designed to evaluate the prognostic significance of NLR in patients with bladder cancer by reviewing published studies.

Background and Objective: Prostate cancer is considered as one of the most common malignancies in males. Despite the decreasing trend during the past decade, the incidence continues to rise in adolescents worldwide. متن کاملNormal values of neutrophils/lymphocytes ratio, lymphocytes/monocytes ratio and platelets/lymphocytes ratio among Iranian population: Results of Tabari cohort
Background: Neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), lymphocyte-monocyte ratio (LMR) and platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) have a prognostic value in several types of diseases such as cancers and they vary in different races. So, we aimed to evaluate the normal range of these markers among healthy people to determine the normal value in Iranian population. Methods: In the present study, cross-sectiona...
متن کاملDoes preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio have a value in predicting recurrence in bladder tumour after intravesical BCG treatment?
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of the ratio of preoperative neutrophil to lymphocyte after intravesical BCG treatment in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). The data of 89 patients, operated for urothelial carcinoma and treated with BCG after the diagnosis of NMIBC between 2007 and 2014, were reviewed retrospectively. Preoperative complete blood counts an...
متن کاملEosinopenia and Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio as diagnostic tools in neonatal early onset sepsis -a single center observational study
Background and Objective: Neonatal sepsis is associated with high mortality and has a favourable outcome when recognized and treated in a timely manner. In resource-limited settings, there is a need for an affordable test with a short turnaround time for timely diagnosis of sepsis. The aim of this study was to find out the role of eosinopenia and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in screenin...

Background: The present study aimed to compare the complete blood count (CBC) indices between COVID-19 patients and the control group, and assess the relationship of these indices with COVID-19 prognosis given the role of complete blood counts in the COVID-19 prognosis. Methods: COVID-19 patients (confirmed by PCR or CT-Scan) who visited Imam Hospital in Sari were selected in this case-control...
